Xavier stared into the fireplace. It was only six thirty, but the full moon was already suspended in the sky, and already a blanket of darkness had covered the school gronds. The flames flickered, as light as air, among the charred logs. They danced with each other, grew and shrunk, brightened and dulled. Its sharp bite seemed wrong to go with its magic. Xavier heard footsteps behind him and looked up to see...

Belle, sliding the passage shut. It was concealed behind a book case in the Gryffindor common room, it led to a false floor pannel under the Slytherin table in the great hall. So far, Belle was the only one who knew about it. She turned around to see Xaiver. She smiled and sat in a chair, hoping he wouldn't ask about the passage...
